The winery
The history of the winery begins on May 14, 1920, when 49 local farmers founded the Cantina Sociale of Formigine. The first president was the Jewish engineer and landowner Eugenio Guastalla, who led the winery until 1938, when he had to resign because of the approval of the racial laws. The work started by those pioneers has never stopped and, almost a century later, the ancient company has become the Cantina Formigine Pedemontana, a modern company born from the merger with the Cantina Pedemontana of Sassuolo which involves over 380 members that produce fine grapes on an area of over 600 hectares of vineyards, of which 70% characterized by Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC.

The new plant, inaugurated in 2006, was conceived with cutting-edge solutions but with an eye on tradition to mix the past and the future, the centuries-old experience of traditional winemaking with the refinement of modern taste. A practical and functional store with a welcoming tasting room welcomes consumers and offers the highest quality wines. Directly from the wine producers, with commitment, self-sacrifice, and passion, to savvy and demanding customers addicted to the good flavors of the area of Modena.
